Devotional
Let hope arise in you today
Intro:
Whatever is happening in your world, set it aside. Take time now to just refresh with Jesus. Let the Heavenly Father embrace you and the Holy Spirit gently speak hope into your heart, today.
Opening Prayer:
Today is a day of hope, Lord. A day of fresh beginnings. A day when I know, with complete confidence, that you are with me. Emmanuel, God with us. God you are with me today. And that gives me hope and strength. Thank you Lord.
Bible verse –
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV
Reflection –
After teaching the church at Corinth how to behave, God highlights these three qualities. These are so well known, yet so precious.
We often talk about our faith. And it is good to do this as we strengthen our faith, share our faith, live out our faith.
We often talk about love. Our society is bathed in a confused understanding of love. But we often draw near to God’s love sharing his love with others around us.
Yet, we don’t as often talk about hope. It’s the quiet one. Sometimes the forgotten one. But a quality that is so powerful, so life transforming and so empowering.
Hope.
Hope again. Hope anew. Let hope arise in you. And everything that has been burdening you and anything that troubles you in the future, if you remember God loves you deeply, you’re completely forgiven and your life matters.
Our love and service for Jesus comes from this place of hope.
Let hope arise in you today.
Prayer –
It’s all about you, Lord.
You are my hope and strength. You are my peace and quietness. I rest in you Lord. I don’t strive. I don’t seek my own way. I just rest in your presence experiencing your embrace and knowing your love deep within my heart.
It’s from that place of hope that I minister, serving you Jesus and loving your people.
Thank you Jesus!
Amen.
