A whisper thunders

13th October 2025

Intro:
Sometimes it’s hard to find time to be with Jesus, isn’t it? The children may need us, work may be demanding on us, we may struggle to pray because we keep falling asleep with exhaustion. God understands. God sees. God loves and God embraces you right where you are.

Opening Prayer:
I come aside to be with you today, Jesus. Just like you often did, I take time to be with your Father, listening to His voice and opening my ears and heart to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit quietly whispering to me.

A whisper thunders in my heart as I hear your voice, Lord.

Amen

Bible verse –
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1‬:‭35‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflection –
Solitude, being by himself, and silence, alone and quiet away from the noise of ministry and people, were keys to Jesus’ life and ministry.

Again and again he took time aside to be with his Father.

We’re to do the same. We’re to follow in his steps.

Solitude. Today or this week, set aside time to be by yourself with the Holy Spirit. Invite Him to speak to you.

Silence. Set aside all noise, whether news reports, social media, others voices or whatever you need to do to find a place of silence.

When I did this during a 24 hour retreat it was so refreshing. Regularly I take time alone and time in silence.

I invite you to experience silence embracing all that Jesus shows you as you do.

Prayer –
It’s so incredible being with you God. So life changing in your presence. Being with you Jesus makes all the difference in my life. Father, in the solitude & silence, let me feel your embrace. Holy Spirit, let me hear your voice again.

Thank you Lord.

Amen
