Devotional
Defeating fear through faith and trust
Intro:
It’s so easy to allow ourselves to come under the weight of fear of what others think, fear of failure, fear of success, fear of…but
Opening Prayer:
Beginning the day with you Lord makes the difference. Without you I don’t know how I could go on, Lord. Thank you for being my strength & encouragement even when I’m confused or fearful. I can trust in you Jesus.
Bible verse –
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
II Timothy 1:7 NKJV
Reflection –
Fear can be crippling. Fear of doing the wrong thing. Fear of doing something wrong. Fear of letting others down. Fear of people or situations around you. Fear can be paralysing.
But we have an antidote. With just a drop of faith we can overcome fear. Just a drop. Reach out to God today and ask him to give you that drop of faith. To encourage you with hope. To give you courage. To help you persevere. To help you to overcome fear, whatever the cause.
God is a mighty God. He is much more powerful than anything in your way. Focus on him. It changes everything.
And isn’t it wonderful that in the antidote of faith, God doesn’t leave us there. He gives us power, love and a sound mind.
Power to serve him and do all he calls us to do. Love to love and lead for him shepherding his people with grace and wisdom. And a sound mind to focus us on him not letting other things distract us. Fulfilling the mission and call that he has given us. As you trust in Him fear dissolves, it disappears. Reach out to Him even with a mustard seed size level of faith.
Prayer –
Thank you Jesus that you have not given me a spirit of fear. Thank you that instead I have faith through you.
And thank you that you’ve also given me a spirit of power to persevere, love to serve with your anointing and a sound mind to live and follow you.
You do make all the difference Lord Jesus.
Thank you Jesus.
Amen
