Doing a New Thing

29th December 2025

Intro:

The year is fast coming to a close. Before we know it, this year will be gone and a new one will come. How good is it to know that the God who has loved you this year, loves you next year and always?!

Opening Prayer:

Thank you Jesus for being with me this year. And for the confidence that I have that you will be with me in the year to come.

Bible Verse:

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.

(Isaiah 43:19 NIV)

Reflection:

Whatever has happened in the past year, whether good or bad, wonderful or challenging, God has been with you.

And He will do a new thing in the year ahead.

That’s so exciting isn’t it.

I always like a New Year. I look forward to the adventure of what is going to happen in the next year. I know that Jewsus will be with me and His Holy Spirit will guide me into His purposes.

And if you have been facing wastelands or deserts in this past year, have a read of this verse for hope.

“See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”

God is doing a new thing. There will be breakthroughs, there will be miracles, there will be moments of wonderful victory and joyous celebration. As we trust in the Lord, we know that whatever we face in this year to come, He will be with us. He will guide us and He will provide for us. Now that’s wonderful encouragement isn’t it?

Prayer:

Thank you Holy Spirit that you are always with me. Thank you that I can trust you with the days and years ahead because you promise to be with me to never leave me nor to forsake me. I depend upon you, Lord. I rely upon you. And I trust in you Jesus. I’m excited Lord as we step into a New Year together Lord to see what adventures it will hold. Thank you Jesus that we can trust you, no matter what.
