Hearing His call afresh!
Opening Prayer:
Prayer –
When I think of you Lord, I’m reminded of the visions you have shown me of how mighty and incredible you are. I stand in awe of you God. And yet, somehow, by your grace, I draw near to you. And you welcome me into your presence, Lord. In your presence, you then speak to me, leading and guiding me in your purpose.
Amen.
Bible verse –
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!””
Isaiah 6:1-8 NIV
Reflection –
Doesn’t your view of life change when you experience God’s presence afresh. Just think of what happened to Isaiah in this vision from the Lord. His life was totally transformed.
He would have known from Jewish Law and the Torah that he would have been smitten when seeing the Lord. Complete destruction would be his end after seeing the Lord face to face.
But this didn’t happen.
Instead in God’s presence, Isaiah was given a mission, a call was sounded, a charge was imparted…
And see how Isaiah responded. This is what God invites us to do too.
Do you sense afresh God’s presence? And the call that is sounded for you. The mission that is given for you, whether a large church or small, a large ministry or small. Can you hear His voice afresh?
Reflect upon when you experienced God’s call to ministry and to your current ministry? How did He speak to you? How were you convinced this is what He wanted you to do? Take a moment to reflect upon that life-changing time.
God imparts to you a fresh charge…to love and serve Him and those He loves. This is God’s call to you today.
How do you respond?
Prayer –
Today Lord, it’s hard to pray. I just sit in your presence. Awestruck by you. Yet filled with hope. That despite everything, you still are calling to me to love and serve you. You still love me Lord. And you still have a mission for me. That’s amazing.
Thank you Jesus.
Amen.
