His mercies are new every morning!

29th September 2025

Intro:
Picture a beautiful sunrise. I have the pleasure of regularly seeing these over the marina which is about 3 minutes walk from my home. See that sunrise in your neighborhood. In the sunrise, there’s a promise…His mercies are new every morning! Hallelujah!

Opening Prayer:
Today Jesus, thank you that your mercies are new every morning, great is your faithfulness. This day is one that you have made. Today, I praise you. Today, I submit afresh to you, Loving Lord, Holy God.

Thank you that I have the privilege to still draw near to you because of your grace and mercy Jesus.

Amen

Bible verse –
“Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Reflection –
Peace comes when we “put on (our) new nature”. It’s such a difference when we’ve taken off things which separate us from God and put on a renewed nature. He accepts us unconditionally. He pours out his love upon us.

It doesn’t matter what family you were from, or what ethnicity is yours. God loves you just as much as he loves me and just as much as he loves the people in your church.

Jesus guides us how to live here. He has shown us by his example on earth and now he teaches us through Paul…
“Put on…tender hearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

What outstanding character qualities to choose. We can choose them. Then the Holy Spirit helps us.

And forgiveness and love flow over all these transforming our nature into one that pleases him and loves and serves others.

Then the peace of God guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. God’s peace rules in our hearts meaning he helps us to know what to do.

Prayer –
You’re an amazing God, Lord. You accept me as I am. But you don’t leave me there. You invite me to change to become more like you day by day. Thank you Lord that your peace rules in my heart.

Help me to put on this godly nature living for you more today than yesterday, more tomorrow than today.

Thank you Lord that you help me to forgive others as you have forgiven me.
I love you Jesus. Thank you for your deep, transforming love for me.

Amen
