“Love” is spelt “T-I-M-E”

Going deeper in our love relationship with Jesus is hard isn’t it?! Just like deepening our relationships with our friends, family and spouse. It takes intentional focus and time. In fact, someone once said “Love” is spelt “T-I-M-E”. Who do you need to spend more TIME with this week?
Opening Prayer:
Prayer – it’s so good to be alive and enjoying your presence this morning, Lord.
Come and sit beside me as I share with you and listen to you, Jesus.
Let your peace and grace overflow me.
Touch my heart deep within today.
Amen.
Bible verse – Acts 20: 28 NIV
“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.”
Reflection –
Paul at Ephesus has challenged the Elders of the church to keep watch over ourselves and the flock which the Holy Spirit has made us overseers for. It’s the same for us isn’t it?
It needs to start with us. To guard our hearts, for out of heart springs the well-springs of life.
As we guard our own hearts, we are then ready to care of the flock which the Holy Spirit has appointed us to shepherd.
It wasn’t someone in church, the previous Pastor, the Board or Denominational leader who appointed you to lead and shepherd God’s people. It was the Holy Spirit himself.
Remembering our calling and who has called us, changes our perspective and empowers us for ministry.
It isn’t our church we lead, it’s God’s church. He bought each person who is part of our church community with His own blood. He suffered and died for each one of them, and for you and me.
Amazing isn’t it; amazing grace!
Closing Prayer –
Thank you Holy Spirit that you have called me, appointed me and anointed me for loving and leading your people.
Thank you God that you have drawn each of the people into my church. Not me. Not our clever programs or powerful preaching.
But you, by your Holy Spirit, have called each one of them.
Help me to appreciate your calling for me and also the love you have for each person within my church.
Thank you Jesus.
Amen
