Your Name is Holy!

10th November 2025

Reflecting on the Lord’s Prayer is so refreshing. Each time I read it and genuinely pray it, I’m filled with thankfulness and strength. But of course we can pray it in a way of rote or routine, rather than with a relationship with Jesus in mind. Let’s not fall for that mundane rote repetition, but a living prayer igniting our faith.

Opening Prayer:

Lord, thank you that I can draw near to you today knowing your Father’s arms are open wide to receive me. You embrace me with your love. Whether my ministry is flourishing or whether it is drying up and I’m struggling, thank you Heavenly Father that you still embrace me in your love. I receive that embrace and lean back in your arms, Father. Speak to me today. Reassure me Lord of your love and grace. Thank you Lord.

Bible Verse:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

Your’s is the Kingdom, the power and glory.

Forever and ever. Amen

(Matthew 6:9-13 NIV/ NLT)

Reflection:

“Hallowed be your Name” also expressed: “Holy is your Name” or “Your Name is Holy” each reflect the thought of reverencing the Almighty God and lifting Him up over our lives, over our family, over our ministry, over our successes and failures and our hopes and dreams. God’s Name rises above all. He is majestic. He is holy. He is mighty. Yet He is also gracious, loving, kind and full of mercy.

Think of a few of the Names of God in Hebrew reflecting His nature.

Jehovah Jireh – the Lord who Provides

Jehovah Rapha – the Lord who Heals

Jehovah Shalom – the Lord Our Peace

He provides, He protects, He heals, He is peace and brings us peace. Holy is His Name.

This changes how we live and see our world doesn’t it? Lifting God up over each of our challenges praying this way gives us a heavenly perspective. May you embrace this again today.

Prayer:

Thank you Lord that everything changes in your presence. Your power is so evident as we reflect upon your Names, Lord God Almighty. Yet, you are also our peace. Not a far away God. But Emmanuel, God with us. Thank you, Lord.
